FIFA 2005 speed problem: driver on VAIO A297XP?

The soccer game FIFA 2005 plays at abnormal speeds when my VAIO A297XP is plugged into the mains. Running on battery it is OK [to say the least: it runs great]. The support site of FIFA 2005 says: This is an issue we have seen with laptops using the Centrino processor. Here are some things you can try: (1) Unplug the laptop from any power outlets and use the battery power. (2) Check your laptop manufacturer's website for the latest updates for your laptop hardware devices. Question: does anyone know which driver should be updated? Thanks!

Nice, but what is, if the batterie are empty?

Don't what is the latest driver. My craphicsdriver is approx two years old. And I'm not happy about this.

if the battery is empty then the game is over. For the A297XP (1024MB) with logitech gamepad this means 2 hours of playing time.:smileysad:

2Hrs is short for gaming but good for the battery.
Hopefully they'll fix this Centrino problem.

In the meantime the problem is solved: on advice of the Vaio support team, I updated the ATI driver from the driver download page. Now FIFA2005 plays perfectly with mains connected:smileyhappy:
