I have the dics to connect to laptop but will not work with win 7.

I presume you mean SX415?  Also, I presume you have Windows 7 32-bit?

Have you tried the Driver Version 6.61 which appears to be compatible with Windows 7.  It can be downloaded here from the Epson Support website: -

You normally need to install the software BEFORE you connect the printer using a standard USB cable.

You can download the Setup Manual, contact Epson Support etc using the links on the Epson Support Pages for your printer: -
