hi. The Media Gallery Software on my computer has not worked correctly on my Vaio, since the time that i
bought it,earlier this year.
Not All of my photos and music files have been copied by Media Gallery.i know that it creates invisible files
based on the files you already have on your computer, but the cache is not working properly
and not updating or clearing.Consequently i have a load of invisible files on my laptop that are full of incorrect with old information. So i need to get rid of all of these invisible folders and files ,to clear up disc space.
can anyone help me with this.I have been in contact with sony for nearly three months now ,regarding this issue
and they have consistently given me incorrect information ,conseqeuently wasting my time and money.
and i am really fed up with there flippant attitude
Does anything in this discussion that helps at all?

It's a bit vague but may point you in the right direction.
Hi thanks for replying to my e mal.
i have been trying for months to delete these invisible files ,which have taken over my laptop as well as my
other external storage devices.
...............i have tried unchecking all of the media folders and have done exactly you suggested in your e mail link..but still no good. You are 100% correct when you say that the information is vague.....it states.............
"To remove all these existing folders select 'Monitoring Folders' and uncheck all the check boxes. Ignore the warning message that the folders are being deleted."
i mean what does 'Monitoring Folders' refur to?????? also what warning messages?...it does not make sense
if anyone can help me solve this problem then i would really appreciate it

All I can find is this thread on Microsoft Answers: -

I followed the link that you sent to me.Thank you but basically it only confirms that other people
have also had the same problem as me and can not resolve the problem either.
If you go to "content management " settings within Media Gallery itself and uncheck all of the check boxes
for photos,Music and video, it still does not delete all of the existing hidden folders on my Laptop.
i have contacted sony directly and they suggested a complete sysem restore but this too
would not solve the problem since my media files are all corrupted with these hidden folders ,even on my external hard drive.
Sony should never have put software on the laptop that basically is like a virus.
if anyone out there can hepl me to get rid of these hidden files then i really would appreciate the help.
i have been trying to sort out this problem for three months now.
sony ultimately is to blame.
i believe that by clogging up peoples computers with unnecessay duplicates it forces people to buy new computers as they run out of disc space
