Hi there,

I do not wanna talk how long I was waiting for my vaio from sony because they lost package. Just received it few days ago. But I've got one more problem. If I would move task bar on to top side of screen you can see dark line at the bottom of screen and bottom corners are more darker. It comes on all resolutions and on any backgroud color. Does anyone could tell me what should I do with that issue? See attached picture.

Yes I could send it to warranty, but I was waiting for laptop more then one month because my old vaio has stopped work. But nobody will pay for me expenses of delivery, my time, etc.

Did you find out what the problem was here? I have the same problem and wondered if you fixed it?

Hello rytpetke,

unfortunately it is normal that the distribution of the backlight on the screen isn't perfectly even. Darker or lighter spots can - in particular at the edges and corners - occur. It is only a question of choosing a light or dark solid image and then looking closely enough and you'll find the spots.

That's because the backlight on bascially all computer displays doesn't actually come from the back, it comes from the edges, is spread through a translucent pane and then several filter foils befor exiting through the LCD display itself to the front.

The good news is that your display isn't defective, nor is this a sign of worse to come.
