Audio Driver problem with VGC-V2M

Having purchased this computer recently (2nd hand). It was working perfectly....

My father decided to download some stupid audio driver of some description, anyhow, its wiped the original driver off the computer, and the available drivers from the Sony Support will not open or run?!

The computer also came WITHOUT the recovery disks.

Any ideas on what I can do to restore the sound?

Thank you.

Are you still using the original XP Operating System?

If yes, you may still have a copy of the original audio driver in a folder C:\Drivers

If it is not there, try downloading the Original Drivers Package from here: -

http://support.vaio.sony.eu/computing/vaio/downloads/preinstalled/index.aspx?l=en_GB&m=VGC-V2M

When you download a .ZIP file, you need to extract the files to see an installer program.  Right-click on the .ZIP file and choose "Extract All" and extract to somewhere you can find the file.  If you look inside the Audio driver, you will find an Install.EXE.
