The Matshita BD-MLT UJ230AS CD-ROM drive on my VGC-RT1SU is able to read data discs and music discs, but not DVDs. It will not even acknowledge that there is a disc in the drive when I put a DVD in. This is a recent problem - it was playing and recording fine one day, then suddenly stopped. It will not recognise blank DVDs either, whereas before I was able to write DVDs with no problems. Is it dead?
Hi,
My Matshita BD has developed the same problem. Were you able to get this sorted out yet? I have just started looking for a solution and fist things comes to mind was updating the Matshita BD driver and updating Win DVD blu ray. So far nothing made a change. I am still thinking it is software problem since I don't use the drive very often. I will post if I find any fix please do the same.
Yes it`s dead, replace it A.S.A.P if it`s under warranty cause it`s a read and write error on the lens.
