In fact, I find the whole Sony support set up to be very user unfriendly, Sony's site are just terrible!

Solved! Go to Solution.
If you need help from Support then I suggest that you contact them direct.
It may help to quote your correct model which is probably VGN-NR31and not the chassis number (pcg-7132m). You should find this on the screen surround.
I suggest that you don’t adopt the same attitude with Support as you have done with fellow Vaio users.
What are you trying to do?
What model do you have?
That is irrelevant. The update link from within PMB comes up with a 404. My Vaio update comes with a message that I have a PMB plug-in update which I cannot download. I spent at least two hours (in different days), it takes up to 35 minutes to download, then, at the very end, it drops me off with an error message: Try later.
Tried to get into Sony support, their form rejects some information (I think it is the Vaio model), without saying which one. I got the model information from the computer itself. Appaling!
Sony computers are not cheap, I really expected a better support.
By the way, I had problems with downloading Vaio software from day one, a couple of months ago.
Extremely disappointed with Sony, and the moderator of this forum.
I'm sorry you think it irrelevent. Without your model I cannot check if an update is due, if there is an alternative download route or if you have been quoting the correct model to Vaio support.
From experience, telephone support is most likely to get results.
sorry my model is pcg-7132m

Why did the moderator accepted this reply? Waste of time. Yves seems to be more worried about what he calls "profanities" rather than actually policing time wasters.

Not sure what you mean by this..:smileyconfused:

Hi,
You mention Sony support but didn't tell us what site you have visited, if you are looking for the Vaio support page then that can be found using the following link- VAIO After-Sales Support
As to rejecting some information it's possible you are -
a) on the wrong site
or
b) or if you are on the VAIO After-Sales Support then you may be using the Vaio chassis number and not your VAIO's model number..
However as you prefer not to post your Vaio model on the Q&A forum it makes it difficult for us to help identify where the problem may lie, so it's probably best that you contact Vaio support. Contact details can be found by using the link above..:smileywink:
It means read what I have written before answering. I thought that was clear.
Secondly, I am not stupid, that was exactly the support page I visited. Stop treating anybody who post in here as idiots.
Third, the problem is NOT my computer, but Sony's websites. Remember, they got hacked because the incompetents had poor defenses, if any. #fail
Fourth, I don't want any other reply if it does not come from somebody who actually know something, preferably from support itself.
I am not going to reply any more to time wasters.
