BACKLIT KEYBOARD ON F12

I own a customised F series VAIO laptop, VPCF12C5E, top specs at the time, still loving it!!

I would really love a backlit keyboard with it (I mean for the laptop itself, not external ones), unfortunately at the time, it was not yet available to the F series. Now having seen the New F22 with it's backlit keyboard in action, I REALLY ENVY ONE  on my F12

I noticed it's the same layout as the old F12, very similar dimensions.

Does anyone know if it's at all possible to fit a Sony backlit keyboard into my F12? Preferably done by Sony? So I won't have to void my warrantee?

Any suggestion would be appreciated.

If you require a definitive answer as to whether the backlit keyboard is compatible with your model I suggest that you contact one of Sony’s service partners.

I talked to a tech support, unfortunately the F22 backlit keyboard is not compatable with the F12.

And there are no modifications from Sony for the F12.

So the only other suggestion he can give, is to look up any third parties for the mod; but it will void my warrantee.

As tempting as it is for me to get a backlit keyboard for my F12, but I think I love my VAIO too much to let anyone else messing with it, and voiding my warrantee at the same time.
