You dont make 3D TVs any more, and you cannot find old 3D models on your website.
Hi GodfreyI,
Welcome to our community!
It's true that most of newer Sony TVs don't support 3D but I've checked the UK website (https://www.sony.co.uk/electronics/tv/t/televisions) and couldn't see a filter for 3D TV. Could you let us know where did you see that on the website or send us the link to the page?
Thanks,
Batee5
Try this, and search only the page.
Going to be a bit difficult to get rid of all matches on 3D, though, as long as these sets keep supporting the 3DSP Bluetooth protocol
Hi, apologies for not explaining how to repro the issue. Basically, just google for Sony 3D TV and you get some hits.
Just now I did this and actually found that Sony does still do an 3D TVs! So I was wrong about that. I'm not sure why they were easier to find today, therefore take some credit Unfortunatley they are active, not like my old passive KDL.
The first hit I got on google was HDTV | 3D LED TV with NFC & Android TV | W85 | Sony UK.
My original gripe related to the second hit I found LED TVs | Best 3D & Smart LED Televisions | Sony UK. In this part of the site you cannot find any 3D, and you can clearly see 3D mentioned in the tab title. It is the 3D mention that I wanted removed, because it I thought it was misleading. Searching the page for 3D yields nothing!
However, know that I know the W85 supports 3D, I did a text search for that in the page, and found it. But the key features (bullets) do not mention 3D. It seems that Sony is ashamed of highlighting 3D?!
With renewed faith, I then used "Search Sony" to search for 3D, which narrowed down to Electronics (84). After diligently scrolling past all the Xperia hits, half way down a long page, I found some TVs! And lo, one more 3D hit, also a hidden feature!
So I will cancel my original complaint, and change that to, please menation 3D in the key features of theses two TV ranges.
xnnC sets are from 2015, xnnD sets are from 2016. Current sets are xnnF.
So you are looking at old sets from when Sony did do 3D, that you can’t buy any more - not from Sony, at any rate.
They are still on the website so that owners of these can get downloads and manuals etc.
And those nostalgic for 3D can hunt for old stock, or pre-owned, on Amazon and eBay where you can, handily, find ibuprofen and paracetamol, essential accessories for the Active 3D watcher.
