Hi,
I have succesfully recorded several movies. Now when I record something, everything seems to work fine until i try and find the file. Its nowhere to be found.
The hd (a WD my passport 320 gb) has 54 % free space.
I can watch all my previously recorded movies with no problem.
The problem persists even if I delete any of the old movies.
Thanks in advance,
J.
Hi joakimb1 looks like nobody has answered your cry for help.
Is the USB HDD connected into USB port 1 on your Bravia?
The manual lists the following as being possible causes which should give you somewhere to start your investigations -
USB HDD recording cannot be performed if [SCART REC on] is selected.
Recording cannot be performed in the following cases:
If you do a timer recording, what does the recording notification log say (under home menu / recording)?
You can also do a HDD performance test (under home menu/ system settings)
However, this is a performance test that won't require a full pass (AAA+ or whatever top grade) for your HDD to be ok, but if it fails...
I have found the "solution". Apparently some of my channels have become unrecordable. Tried recording on another channel and it worked. It sound pretty silly but that seems to be the case.
Thanks for the help anyway!

> The TV cannot recognise the registered USB HDD device.
Tv recognise the USB HDD
> More than 1,000 programmes are recorded on the USB HDD device.
I have about 50 programs recorded
>The USB HDD device is full.
Free space 58%
>If you do a timer recording, what does the recording notification log say (under home menu / recording)?
It doesnt notify at all.
>You can also do a HDD performance test (under home menu/ system settings)
Did that and no error.
Hi there
What channels are "un-recordable"?
Do you get a strong signal on those channels (as well as signal quality)?
Cheers
>What channels are "un-recordable"?
In my case it was c-more and viasat ("Pay-tv")
>Do you get a strong signal on those channels (as well as signal quality)?
95/100
Hi there
I think I know the issue - Are you in Norway by any chance? If so. certain stations have legal restrictions placed upon them, and hence cannot be recorded.
Also useful to note is the following:
"Recording is not possible if the programme is not authorised by the operator.."
See the Notes : HERE for more information as well as other restrictions.
Cheers
