X10 mini pro - Problems with speaker and mic

Hi,

Had my x10 mini pro for just a little over 6 months now and just today I noticed I couldn't hear it properly when it was ringing!??  I checked all my settings and the volume on EVERYTHING is at it's loudest.  I tested the music player and couldn't hear properly on that either ... you have to hold the phone to your ear to hear a muffled sound.

I think received a call (only noticed because the phone was IN my hand and it vibrated) and the person on the other end could not hear me!  Once again checked my settings and everything is on properly ... so tested it again and rang husband at home ... and he couldn't hear a thing!

Any suggestions on how to fix this???

you can test the speakers

on the lockscreen (do NOT unlock it) press the following sequence

home -> back -> back ->home -> back -> home -> home -> back

Backup everything and repair your phone with Update Service, if its a software issue it should be fixed

Have just tried your first suggestion ... and just as before ... the only sound coming out of the phone is the ear piece that you hold to your ear when speaking on a call!  Nothing else ... will try this 'Update Service' and let you know how it goes!  Thanks again :smileygrin:

Anytime, let me know if you want to update to android 2.2 or 2.3, they are not made by Sony Ericsson, but they are quite good.

Uliwooly your FANTASTIC!!!

I did as you said and it's FIXED!!!  I haven't had a chance to check the mic as it's too late and I don't want to wake anyone up! lol.  But I tested the ringtones on my speakers and the music player and those are working perfectly! :smileygrin:  Will try the mic tomorrow ... I'm pretty sure I'm in the clear though.
