Why can't I access Google Play Store/ Gmail with WiFi?

I can't access Google Play Store and Gmail with WiFi.

But I can access other applications with WiFi (which means WiFi is connected) and I can access both Google Play Store and Gmail with Data traffic- EDGE (which means my Google account is added properly).

I am facing this problem only recently (both apps used to work with WiFi  before).

I have tried deleting cache and deleting app data, but problem still persists. Please help!

My relief was short lived as the issue is back. Frustrating. Slightly_frowning_Face

havn't tried the SUS thing yet...because i am not really sure whether that will work because i haven't changed anything on my phone is last couple of days but it still stopped downloading apps yesterday.  Another interesting thing is that I was able to download apps using my mobile network (2G) but it didn't worked when I tried using WIFI.......just out of curiosity, can this problem be because of the new version of play store that google has come up with???

FYI  - I was able to download apps earlier using both mobile network and WIFI.

it could be just a temporary google issue

The problem was with my ISP (WiFi hotspot), not with the phone or server.

I was experiencing this and was puzzled. One one phone I could reach Play Store via WiFi and the other I couldn't. The phone that didn't work doesn't have a SIM card -- I am using it as a WiFi only device. Then it hit me...the time and date on the WiFi phone were not correct since it wasn't updating via the cell network. Secure (https) connections will reject connections if the time/date are off more than a little bit -- something about avoiding a 'man in the middle attack' as I recall. I set the time and date manually and it works fine!

Back up your phone's data to your PC or laptop. Return the phone to factory settings. Shut down and restart. Google Play should be accessible once you've selected the nearewst WIFI connection.
