Power\lock button does not respond

Hi,

The power/lock button stopped responding sometimes(while trying to come out of standby). Till now, I have been attributing it to the delay/lag with the 4.3 update. But, now with 201, since sony says there are no lag issues, I'm just thinking could this be a hawdware issue. If anyone could help me figure it out, it would be great as my phone is still in warranty and I can get the hardware fixed.

Thanks

It has happened to me too, with my Xperia Z and Z1, every now and then when I'm using multiple heavy apps at the same time

force restart your phone and check again, you could repair your phone with SUS or PCC and check again

Uliwooly,

I've already tried repairing with SUS. I doesn't help. Also, the hard reset doesn't help either. It is not a persisent problem. Its just that sometimes, it stops responding for a small interval of time.

I have only had the phone for a couple of weeks and this is happening to mine.  Every so often (so far once a day) when pressing the phone to wake up just have a blank screen.  Its most disconcerting.  So far by various means do get it to work.  But I'm wondering if I should get it replaced as the software is up to date and I don't think it can be good for the phone to keep pressing the power button trying to get the thing to work.  I'm worried that one day the phone just won't work at all.  Never had this before, first time with a sony phone.

I think disabling or not updating the Walkman or Photoalbum helps alot

To save the power button use "Auto Screen On Off" It uses the proximity switch to put the device to sleep when it's in your pocket or a flip case is closed. By using it I only need the power button occasionally to reboot. It shows high on the battery usage table but I think it is miss reported as I don't find any extra battery drain when using it or not.

I have this issue on mine. I took it to an O2 guru who said it was the flap on my case covering the light sensor so my phone didn't recognise when the screen should come back on after a call for example. I changed the case and it worked fine for a bit but started playing up again. My power button looks like it's half pressed in so I don't know if that's the reason. The O2 guy said I should send it in but then I managed to drop it in water so I can't now! It also means I now can't tell if the screens not working because of the water or the screen issue!
