Sound system comes and goes
Model SA-CT60BT
Sound works for a few seconds and then stops. Sometimes comes back for another minute and then stops again.
I've done the reseat and nothing.
The lights are always working even when there's no sound coming out

Hi there
You might need to check your TV settings too - as you havent listed your tv model, i cant advise too much. Im assuming its connected to the TV via optical cable? Try unplugging it and re-plugging it back in. Failing that, try another optical cable.
Has this never worked right? Or has it just started happening? If its just started, has there been any changes at all on your end? I.e. New equipment, setting changes etc?
Cheers

Software PKG2.704EUA
It always worked just fine never had any problems.
A month ago it started failing. When I turn it on it works for 1 or 2
minutes and then stops working. The lights keep on.

Hi there
On the TV - Set Digital Audio Out to PCM:
-
Press the HOME button, then select
[Settings].
-
Select
[Sound] → [Digital Audio Out] → [PCM].
Failing that, as i mentioned above, replace the optical cable.

I've tried it and still not working.
Used reset and still no changes.
Why it works for 1 minute and then stops? If it was the cable it wouldn't
work at all.
Any chips that need to be replaced ?

Hi there
Unfortunately i dont know why it would work for a minute and then cut out. I was just ruling out possibilities before coming to the conclusion of a hardware failure - which i guess is looking more likely. Its possible that its shorting out once it heats up - but im not an electronics expert.
You might want to consider getting it repaired - if its not under warranty that is. But it may just be as cheap to replace.
Either way, im going to escalate this thread to Sony Support for you, and see if Sony have any other suggestions. They should be in contacr in the next day or two. Let me know how you get on with them anyhow.
Cheers
