Lost Gold radio station on DAB the other day i know it's on DAB+, can the above unit be upgraded to DAB+ by firmware update or anything like that?

Hi Alloneword,

I don't think it's possible to add DAB+ support tbh.

Hi.

I can't access some of the newer DAB+ stations either. I even purchased a new DAB aerial, thinking it would solve the problem, but it hasn't.

The DAB tuner picks up the stations and displays their names, but there's no audio.

I wonder if there's a workshop that could upgrade the DAB tuner to a newer DAB+ tuner?

I don't want to part with my CMT-BX77DBi, so hopefully it can be modified.

Not sure if this would help makes sense of this, but maybe take a look at the band/frequency table on page 28 and 29 of the Manual.

Thanks for the reply.

It seems that my DAB radio can receive all of the frequencies that the DAB+ stations are broadcast on. I've discovered that the new DAB+ audio mode is AAC, so I'm presuming my DAB receiver can't process the AAC codec and can only handle MP2.

I've contacted a local repair centre to see if it's possible to replace / upgrade the current DAB receiver, but I'm not hopeful. I may just have to bite the bullet and replace the whole stereo.

Thanks for your help.
