Do you mean TRV245e? The TRV45e is Video 8 (analogue) which won't connect to PC without a video capture card.
The TRV245e really needs firewire to connect properly. I don't think the cameras USB port is 2.0, so it will be very slow even if you do get it to connect. A firewire card fitted to the PC would be the way to go.
I know you can get firewire to eSATA adaptors and converters, which might possibly work, but I can't guarantee it and they're often more expensive than the FW cards.

How do I transfer videos from Sony DCR-TRV45E Camcorder to PC?
My PC doesn't have a firewire port.
It has eSATA, HDMI and USB ports.
The Camcorder is not recognised when connected via USB port...
I haven't seen any adaptors or similar so far.
