XR-50X90J Media Buttons Won't work on TV remote

When I switch on my TV (XR-50X90J) sometimes the media and TV buttons on the remote don't work.  Other buttons like power and directions do work.  I have to power the TV off and on again and the buttons still won't work but after 2-3 minutes the TV soft resets and it works again.  TV is up to date.  Really fed up with the TV now.  Anyone had the same experience with their TV or a fix?

You can try to unpair your remote control and pair again to test (check out this guide: https://helpguide.sony.net/tv/iaep1/v1/en/07_13.html)

Also, you may try to reset your remote control by removing the batteries, holding the power button for 3 seconds, then inserting new batteries.
