Center Sync crackle / static.

I'm having an issue using my A95K tv as the centre speaker for an HT-A5000 sound bar - namely crackle / static.

It is not regular, certainly not constant, but crops up from time to time and is quite off-putting.

The tv is connected to the sound bar via HDMI using the e-Arc channel. The sound bar is then connected back to the tv using the 3.5mm jack cable supplied with the tv.

I have contacted Sony Support over this but their trouble-shooting advice only went as far as to suggest unplugging everything. I have read, in a number of places, static if often caused by dirt or dust which can be blown away. I have also read suggestions of using compressed air to do the job but don't know if this sounds like the very most sensible idea!!

Has anyone else had this problem?? Can anyone advise on the dust theory or suggest anything else that might help??

Thank you for the tip.

Im not really optimistic because the repair was done in August or so but I did make the screenshots from my problem that I've posted here and send it per email to the same case number at Sony support.

Now we will see what they'll say.

But as I've said, I'm not to optimistic about the outcome.

I have exactly the same problem with a new Bravia 7 and a A5000 sound bar. Did the motherboard change over sort the problem out. thanks

I did already changed the motherboard because the static noise was noticeable at that time. Now I'm hearing this static noise only when I'm near the speakers, bit again is louder with S-Center function on. I have contacted the Sony Support once again, they have open the repair case, but didn't give me the information about the repair costs. They did gave me the email and number from service company, but after contacting them... No reply!

Now I'm waiting

I did get a phone call from Sony Support yesterday. Sony is so nice and does everything to keep me as a satisfied customer that they offered me that they'll pay for one part of repair costs but they couldn't say which part of repairs. (Probably spare cables or screws 🤣) and I should pay for the costs of the technician coming to my house and checking the TV and the rest of the repair costs.

Thank you Sony! But no thank you Sony!

For someone who was always buying Sony devices (TV's, PlayStation's, Soundbars, Speakers, Mobile devices).... I can only say

Good bye Sony!

Not mad... Disappointed

I tried calling Sony over the S-Centre crackling and they were useless as usual.

Please reset all of your equipment is their go to technical support eve though it is a hardware issue.

I have purchased Sony products for years and spent thousands on Sony equipment but now I am finished with Sony for good and will move to LG.

I also have a lot of problem with my HT-A7000 Sound bar being slow to switch to the correct AV/HDMI connection, sometimes it's on with sound and no picture and other times it is just a black screen and I have to re-start everything but mostly it will switch to HDMI 2 when the TV/Source is HDMI 1??? How can something switch to a source that is not sending any signal?!?!

I have had probes with my 2 previous Sony TV's as well. The only Sony TV that was perfect had the old XMB operating system where Google TV is awful and still regularly crashes.

Sony is not cheap and so the quality should match the price tag. I have no words left I am finished with Sony.

@jofreet Have tried checking is there any software updates for the soundbar? I think it has a new update: https://www.sony.co.uk/electronics/support/sound-bars-home-theater-systems-sound-bars-surround-speak...
