Hey guys, I think I know what's going on, recording is not allowed on YouView, so to record you need to disable it yea? This is why you can't get the catch up services as they don't work without enabling YouView.

Hi Hannah, if you could elaborate on your theory, as I don’t quite follow. Our Humax PVR is connected via the aerial socket which, I assume, it would record from that signal. I don’t understand why Youview would misbehave?

Thanks, Peter

Also have this problem, but also on non catch-up like Netflix, crunchyroll, and amazon prime. I can also see glitching in the video playback - the stream speeds up and misses frames. Restart fixes it, but not every single time, and requires rebooting several times. Last night Prime refused to play sound, and we rebooted 5 times without success, ended up using an old Apple TV to finish watching a program.
It doesn’t make tv viewing relaxing.

Only got the tv in December so can’t say whether it was a problem before the latest update, but I wonder if there is enough ram in this tv to handle multiple apps?

I had sound issue too last night watching through ITV Hub via the app in the TV's home page (Youview turned off). There was no sound until I switched from Soundbar to TV speaker. Using the TV speaker output the app playback then worked fine.

When the Soundbar was turned back on, video playback was problematic and stopped again (seemed to be similar to the BBC iPlayer issue whereby the app falls over with UHD replay when sound is output through the soundbar).

Hi All,

I'm just wondering which models are affected by this as it's not clear if all of you have TVs with the same firmware or if the issue happens across different line ups?

So my device details are:

This is definitely a bug in the software which needs to be fixed

My new Bravia KD-43XH8096 has suffered this three times. Power off at the wall has fixed it each time, but this is obviously an annoying and lengthy process. I also turn the TV off at the wall socket every night, so it gets a power-off reset every day!

I’ve just installed the latest v6.5016 update today from the tv menu on my XH8505, did a restart (using the standard ‘hold down the standby button on the remote’ method), and am pleased to report UHD on iPlayer works fine with sound through my sound bar 😁! Which is great news.

I also notice the ‘press green to watch from the beginning’ when viewing live TV in the Sony Youview app also works fully too! Great news again 😁
