FDR-X1000v won't turn on, REC-LED is blinking
Hey
I'm running out of luck regarding a problem with my Sony FDR-X1000v.
I've been using it for about a year when suddenly it stopped working, when I put in the battery the REC-LED blinks in a specific pattern: 3 Long 7 Short ---.......
I've made a short clip describing the problem
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TKYq_P6I4Qk
I have no idea of what this blinking means - and I can't seem to find anything online.
I've tried a lot of different things everything ends with the blinking, here is some of the thing I've tried:
- With and without SD-card
- Different SD-Cards
- Other batteries
- Holding down buttons when putting in the battery
- Connecting it to the PC (with and without battery)
Connecting the camera to a PC, I hoped I could re-flash the firmware, but because the camera never turns on it is not recognised by the PC. It just blinks the REC-LED when I connect a USB-cable.
The camera is within the 2 year warranty, but I can't find my receipt, hence Sony won't make a repair.
Does anyone of your guys know how to solve this problem?
Thank you
Regards
Johndeere87 aka. JD

Hello @Johndeere87,
The support checked your post and advices the following:
- NicI checked the post and you have already tried all the relevant trouble shooting steps so the only thing left is to send it to our service for inspection/repair. If you don't have a VAT invoice to confirm the warranty status you can get back to the retailer and request one.
Just a heads up - in the UK the warranty periode is one year starting the date of purchase.
Thanks,
Batikh

Hello
Thank you for you help.
Problem is that the retailer went out of buisness in the meantime - so I cannot get an invoice copy from him.
In Denmark (where I live) there is a two year warranty periode.
