Xperia Z Lollipop Update Problem_Dead phone

So I tried to update my Xperia to lollipop android with pc companion. It has successfully finished Step 1 and then I had to plug the phone in my computer. Suddenly the pc companion said that there was no device found and I realised that my phone was dead. I unplugged it and since then It shows the "Sony Xperia" screeen and then restarts all the time. Any ideas?

You may need to perform a software repair using PC Companion. The process will erase all internal memory. You might need to charge your device for about 1-2 hours before so the device has at least 80% battery.

Make sure the device is not connected to computer or laptop and turned off (sometimes you have to press power button and volume up until the device vibrates 3 times or on some devices you have to press the small button near the SIM tray or on the back of the device).

Open PC companion->support zone->phone/tablet software update->repair my phone/tablet blue highlighted.Follow the steps given,do not connect your phone until prompted to press volume down while plugging USB cable. If PC companion does not start the repair process, you might need to run it in compatibility mode with Windows 7 (in some cases XP).

I don't think you are going to fix it that way,

Seems many people are having this issue and if it is the Lollypop causing it it's not undo able at this time,

I'm awaiting a new battery for mine and until then I'm either in the wall or on a power bank, these are the only ways mine stays up for longer than 2 presses of an app,

As my battery is 2.3 years old and I have hammered the games and video elements I'm hoping it's simply a dead battery, 700 odd charge cycles is probably quite good life for the battery so I'm hoping a fresh one sorts things,

Things that don't help are even if you roll back to 4.4.4 or below the issue remains so if it is a SW thing whatever it is is either non wipeable or has caused HW early death, the fact mine works with a walking stick still suggests it's SW thing rater than HW, my battery is reported as good in both Sony and 3rd party monitors which again leads me to think the Lollipop is screwed on the ability to read the battery.

I've the same issue with my Xperia Z after update , my phone was working fine for two weeks then this problem happen, when I switch on the phone I've the start screen Sony Xperia then it Goes off.  I've try all the suggested solution but same status. Sometime it start when connected to power source or by change but once it goes to sleep mode it goes off.

Same exact problem. Updated to Lollipop, phone worked but battery usage was off the charts. Enabled UltraStamina mode, phone would not start unless charged to 100% on the wall. Once unplugged, would reboot repeatedly. Sony's response is that I have to pay for a new battery. But the phone charges perfectly fine. The OS believes it is not charged enough.

I'm having the same problem. When kitkat was launched for us, Xperia Z users, Sony reckoned a problem. I guess now it's the same case, isn't it? Unless it's just a case of programmed obsolescence which would be unacceptable for such a high-end product like this one.

Anyway, could you help me find a solution?

Same problem here. Tried to update Z3 with lollipop and now get

"The sofware update failed. Make sure your phone is connected to a PC"

I connect it to the PC and open the latest version of PC Companion. I go to the "Phone/tablet" option and  click the "repair my phone/tablet option" . I then receive a message to say I need hotfix KB2917929 from Microsoft and it gives me a link to it. I go to the MS site and download the correct update. When I try to install I get the message "update not applicable to your computer"

This has left me stranded without a phone and no solution. This all started with Sony's update and I am pretty unhappy about it.

So far I've tried

Tried the reset - hold power button with up volume

Checked that I didn't already have KB2917929 installed, which I don't. According to MS this update was superseded by KB291355 which I do have. which I have tried to uninstall but am unable to.

I have run PC Companion in all the back compatbility versions of windows available with no success.

I would like some help with this please.I have a dead phone which I use every day for personal and business use and no solution in sight
