Phone will not charge/Awful battery life recently/Overheating?

When I first got my Z5 it ran great but now only 3 months after getting this phone it will not charge.

The phone itself and the charger get ridiculously hot whilst charging and the phone runs hot when performing the most basic of tasks.

The battery life was great at first only needing to charge once every other day which I would do in the day, never over night. I now have to charge my phone atleast 3 times a day which is pathetic and now with 8% battery remaining my phone will not charge, I've plugged in many different chargers and theyre all recognised (The phone vibrates and any low battery warnings remove themselves from my display) but nothing happens. I am not brutish when inserting or removing the charger and I previously had a Samsung S4 which i had no issues with and held the same charger for the entire 2 years which i had the phone.

If anyone could explain to me why my phone will not charge or any possible fix to this issue all help would be very much appreciated. Isit possible my phone is faulty? It seems to be the top half of the phone that gets hot

Hi @GRiley,

Sorry to hear about your phone. Slightly_frowning_Face

Can you try forcing a power off by pressing the volume up (+) key and the power key at the same time and keep pressing them until the phone vibrates and turns off, then try charging the phone when it's turned off?

If this doesn't help I suggest that you contact your Local support in order to get your phone examined more closely at an authorised service center.

if you connect your phone to a PC,. does it charge?
if the battery is depleted (0%) it may take a while to charge.

the battery will not be as aswesome when you first bought it, as you progressively install apps some of those run in the background gradually taking the charge of the battery,

if you can post a picture of your battery usage screen we can see what apps that is constantly taking up battery,

have you tried repairing your phone with PCC http://support.sonymobile.com/gb/tools/pc-companion/

The phone does not charge when I plug it into a PC no. It vibrates and the low battery warning dissapears but it has no affect.

The phone currently has 3% battery.

My PC is not recognising my phone either so i cannot use the PCC

Hi there, cannot help with the issues above, but have a problem with battery life as well. My exchange services take 50% of my battery. Battery is down within 9h. Since 2 days now. Did not install any new apps in this timeframe. Any ideas. The version of the exchange services is 6.1

THANKS

I do not know. i fear that an update somehow damaged the app and that it constantly uses mobile network to download data. Like a 24 h download process, but I do not know what I should do.
