My smart band wont detect my sleeping cycle

Hi

I have been using my Sony smartband for a week by now, and during this period the band recorded my sleeping cycle for only one time. I have tried everything: using the auto night mode, changing the mode by pressing the buttom, being connected permanently to my xperia z tablet or disconnected from it, stamina mode on and off, etc but for no avail. If i pushed the night mode and let the band at rest on the table it will start registering sleeping mode, but when i wear it i can see nothing at all on the lifelog, no wake or sleep nothing at all. i have no idea why it registered my sleep for that one time either. Could anyone help me with this issue.

Another question, is there a way to turn off the bluetooth and NFC, while sleeping for example, but without having to switch off the band completely? I mean is there any danger from wearing the band with the bluetooth on for such long periods, especialy while sleeping?

Thanks a lot,

Well, i fgured out what was the problem; i have to be conected to the internet when i sync with my tablet in the morning. i thought that the lifelog on the tablet was enough. it wasn't. and when i connected my tablet to th einternet i would have already switched to day mode and lost all data.

Regarding switching the bluetooth and NFC off, i am still waiting for suggestions, but i realized that i can block the signal by wraping the core with aluminum foil. it worked well, but i am not sure how conveniet this will be on the long run.

Hi Taaru,

Just for curiosity,  I would like to know smart band helps / changes our day to day life?

I would like to know more from user than inspire from advertizement.

For me clearly smartband is piece of junk. Reason I could feel in that way could be one of below reason

1. either i didn't understand the the use case

or 2. It is not designed for me.

I may own one if i get to know the use.

Hi Srids

Well, for me, I mainly bought it to record my sleeping cycles, as i have snoring problem, and to see if this has anything to do with my daily life, for example waking up angry or happy, etc. I also found that the lifelog program helpful in a sense i can put bookmarks for every day detailing my mental and physical status, along with moon phases etc. I hope that, over a long period of time, the statistics of my activities may help me better understand myself. Moreover, i just thought that i can use the band during meditation and see if i can reach deep-sleep-like state, and for how long. you know, if you want you can find helpful things to do with it. it all depends on your personality i guess.

I hope the above was helpful for you to make up your mind.

Regards.

Hi Tararu 🙂

I read an article some time ago about how dangerous those signals are.

Here is the link

In short: those signals are in a none dangerouse range of frequenzy and therefore no problem for your health 🙂

As long as your smartband does not communicate via gamma rays 🙂

Best Regards,

Benjamin
