delayed response time when answering calls while screen is active (xperia z5)

When a click on 'answer' during screen is active, it does not answer the call as expected. Sometimes it takes a few attempts. Is there a known issue on Android 5.1.1 (Build number 32.0.A.6.200)

Developer options turned on. Show touches option is turned on. I can see the touch, but response from phone software is delayed.

I've run the following tests:

   Uptime

Locked screen (screen inactive) : response immidiate

Screen in use (youtube): 4 touches (4 seconds) to answer or decline

Screen in use (whatsapp): 3 touches (3 seconds) to answer or decline

Screen active (Home screen): 1 touch (3 seconds) to answer or decline

Is there a fix or will there be a software update to fix the lag.

Thanks

@z5_sach

could you test this on safe mode ?

perhaps creating a video of this issue on normal mode and safe mode will be useful

Thanks for the quick response. In safe mode the response times are aruond 0.5 second in all the same modes I mentioned above. This is great (I'd be happy with this on Normal mode...

Unfortunately I cannot make a video on safemode because as soon as the call comes up on screen the recording stops and cannot start a recording while ringing. Sorry!

Thank you. I tried stopping certain apps, but the results were mixed. (i.e. first go when outlook was stopped it gave a great boost, but after a restart it went back to slow even with outlook not running.

So it made sure I didn't have anything I don't need. so I've removed the apps listed below.

Direct Accessories, AVG, Amazon, Google Earth, Barclays Pingit, Vodafone Start, Sketch, Spotify, LifeLog.

After that I restarted and now the response time is around a second and one click, not as fast as on safemode, but pretty quick compared to 3-4 clicks and 3-4 secnods before.

info: I have Stamina Mode DISABLED (as it will disconnect from WiFi which defeats the point in having a smart phone alerting you)

Thanks for your help, although not got the root cause, improved reaction time is good enough.

Speaking from recent experience, Vodafone start is terrible, my boss had it on his s6 and it destroyed his user experience.
Unlock pin took ages to register, button presses were lagging like mad and the keyboard was near useless.
After messing around checking apps we pinned it down to the Vodafone apps (start and some other task manager thing) removed and it was perfect again.

Take your sim out and reboot, once loaded go into Google play store and download avg or similar, run it and see if it finds it and fixes it. If not, back up your pics and vital stuff and perform a factory repair using pc companion
