hi, i just bought a brand new Z3. I took it out of the box and tried to turn it on.
however, turns out i can't turn it oon because the battery were completely depleted.
AFAIK, a brand new phone should have around 10% batterly left out of the box. But this not true in my case.
Also, it is common knowledge that storing a battery at 0% WILL ruin the batttery. I assume that the device is shelf-stored for a long time at 0% before it is delivered to me.
So, is this normal? or my battery is ruined already?
Thanks in advance for the responses

@woodensen what does the battery check say?
I think it might be the case that Thommo already brought up: somehow the device might have been turned on during transport or simply it could be defective.
This is the 1st I've ever heard in all my years (over 20 years) of a battery been dead on arrival - It is possible that the battery is defective or that it was switched on during transport whilst still in the box causing the battery to be at 0% - if you are able to charge it then you can check the battery's integrity for faults from the service menu
thanks for your response. yeah im charging it at the moment.
may i know how can i access service menu and check the battery integrity?
*#*#7378423#*#* then open Service tests then look for Battery health test
Thanks, i'll try that as soon as i get my hands on my device
1 more question, does the information on the battery health in service menu always accurate? i mean is it possible that it says the battery is fine but in fact it is faulty?
EDIT: There seems no option on battery health test in service menu..
Hmmm - do you have anything about Battery tests other than that try Xperia diagnostics here or try a 3rd party battery health test
sure, i'll try find the other way to test the battery health
few hours of use, i think the battery seems normal. i dunno for sure though.. the power management says expected battery time is 2 days.
There is a test for the battery but in another menu: dial *#*#4636#*#*, choose battery option.
Hey thank you very much.
what do you think about this battery info?
EDIT I seem cant to insert screenshot here. It says that my battery health as "good"
Voltage 3855mv
33.5 C
