I picked up my XZ yesterday and was surprised to again see NFC seemingly stuck on the outside of the phone (rather than embedded within it). I recall that this was the case way back with my original Xperia Z where it was stuck to the back of the phone...
Has anyone got hold of a screen protector yet (either plastic or tempered glass type) and found whether it sits properly with the raised stuck on rubberised plastic square next to the front-facing camera lens?
I've ordered one and am now concerned that it won't fit properly or sit flush 😕 Can the NFC sticker be removed?
Thanks!
Previous Phones: Xperia X10, Xperia Z, Xperia Z3, now on Xperia XZ
Thanks Emir,
There are several missing Z features or features changed for worst.
We should be discovering new functionalities and improvements, not counting missing Z features. In several aspects, we are moving back to models before Xperia Z. Other brands are moving forward copying Sony features like waterproof and good cameras.
Unfortunately, for sound and vision fans it’s now easier to move to other brands.
Regarding the NFC I've made sure to forward your opinion as user feedback, but could you fill me in on which other features you miss from previous devices? I'll make sure to forward it as well.
I was about to ask the same thing, so does removing the sticker 100% not disable any functionality?
Thanks
@Caitlyn no, the sticker only indicates where the NFC antenna is located. removing the sticker won't disable anything.
No bother thanks again najodleglejszy !!
Hi @Caitlyn, as @najodleglejszy mentioned, the sticker on the display is there to indicate the location of the NFC sensor - you are free to remove this sticker without damaging or affecting the functionality of your device.
so putting a tempered glass or a screen protector wont affect the functions of NFC?
I am just curious since i have not put a guard yet, wondering about this.
thanks
You can use screen protectors, they won't affect the NFC feature. However, please note that NFC is a technology which only works in close proximity, so do not obscure it too much - but a screen protector should be fine.
