Sony XZ Premium phone signal drops completely during calls

Hi,

I am now on my second handset as my Sony XZ Premium keeps dropping calls. It completely looses all phone signal.

I have tried different mobile networks on both handsets, surely both handsets can't be faulty. Does anyone know if there is going to be a software update to fix this soon! It's extremely annoying since forking out over £600 for this handset.

Thanks,

have you tried your SIM card in another phone while in the same place and when connected to the same kind of network?

This is a very legitimate issue, the phone's network signals suddenly drop while in a call and not otherwise which results in call dropping and a few seconds later the signals are back.

Need help.

Of course you will receive the standard "did you try this"?

Did you try this in safemode?

Did you do a factory reset? I know it's a pain but many times on many phones this fixes many things.

Sony offers Xperia Companion for your laptop that you can use to do a factory repair. This will reset your phone the same as a factory reset but there are those who believe that by doing it this way all the software that came on your phone out of the box is replaced with the same, yet new software. So some believe that this is a better solution than a basic factory reset, with the end result being the same... you will have to setup your phone all over again from scratch! Sorry!

Hopefully it's a software issue which resolves once I've done the factory reset using the Sony companion. Thanks mate. Will update

Hi,

Has your issue been resolved? I am facing a similar issue for over a month. Slightly_frowning_Face

Post installing the last update, despite low / dropping signals, the network works fine.

In case this still doesn't work for you, insert a SIM card from another operator in SIM 1 (assuming you are using only one SIM) and start the phone. The phone will restart giving a message that it needs to restart to optimize the network settings for your "new" operator.

Once restarted, switch off and swap it with your original SIM and the phone will restart giving a message that it needs to restart to optimize the network settings for your "new" operator.

This should hopefully solve your issue. It worked for me. Slightly_smiling_Face

Hullo,

Was anyone able to resolve this issue fully? My phone ststi does that and sometimes displays the message "enriched calling has stopped".

Wondering what this means.

Hi,

Is this the usual reset that deletes everything that was on the phone before.

Cheers
