if you bought the phone directly from Sony, it should be SIM-lock free. if you bought it from a carrier anywhere in the EU it should also work with any carrier's SIM. if you're somewhere else, you should probably check with another carrier's SIM if it's not working and ask the carrier you bought it from about unlocking options.
