Color Chaning on my XZ P

Hi,

my XZP is chaning the colors on my screen randomly. Its not like chaning red to blue but it makes all colors brighter.

I tried so much... Factory reset and the software repair tool from Sony. No improvement.

Everytime I put my hand on the proximity switch the colors change.

Qualcomm Assertive Display. it's meant to make the display more readable in direct sunlight by changing the display's contrast

Is there any chance to turn that off?

Its irritating because the colors changes eveytime the proximity switch recognizes something.

nope, no way as far as I know. also to be precise (or maybe even pedantic), it reacts to readings from the ambient light sensor, not the proximity one.

I replied to this inanother thread, so I'll just copy that here, but I'm positive this is a bug. I'm sure the functionality is meant to work in sunlight, etc., but as you said, it's random and sometimes changes with taps. Anyways, here's what I wrote earlier:

I have this issue since the last update as well. The only way to resolve it is to change the brightness of the phone, sometimes more than once or restart.

Out of curiosity, do you have adaptive brightness on or off? I've always had mine off so I wonder if this is an issue of adaptive brightness coming on momentarily or something. It only seems to happen above 1/4 or 1/3 brightness, never when it's dim. Also, tapping anywhere on the display seems to affect it.

The good news is that it's definitely not a hardware issue, which I thought it was originally.

The issue is happening with adaptive brightness as well. I have checked that several times.

This should not happen with an 800€ phone!

Maybe my last Sony. Hate all these bugs...
