Somehow my screen lock has switched to voice activation and the keyboard doesn't activate. Voice activtation doesn't seem to accept anything. I have powered down and powered up and the same thing returns.
Any suggestions?
You might want to try to drag down the notification bar with 2 fngers,go to accesibility and disable talkback.
The device is locked so i can't seem to do this. When I tap the area for the password to open the device, as opposed to seeing a keyboard, I see a microphone with the text "Speak now"
Try to double tap to insert a PIN.
Even with a double tap, only the microphone shows.
You could try to perform a software repair to gain back access but you will lose internal memory.
How do you perform this?
You may need to perform a software repair using PC companion. The process will erase all internal memory. You might need to charge your device for about 1-2 hours before so the device has at least 60% battery.
Make sure the device is not connected to computer or laptop and turned off (sometimes you have to press power button and volume up until the device vibrates 3 times or on some devices you have to press the small button near the SIM tray or on the back of the device).
Open PC companion->support zone->phone/tablet software update->repair my phone/tablet blue highlighted.Follow the steps given,do not connect your phone until prompted to press volume down while plugging USB cable. If PC companion does not start the repair process, you might need to run it in compatibility mode with Windows 7 (in some cases XP).
PC Companion indicates that the phone is locked.
If you are performing a system repair then you shouldn't see this message
Performing a system repair - This will factory reset your phone
Switch off your phone and unplug from Pc (Hold volume up and power for around 10 seconds)
Start PC Companion and select Support zone then Update my phone/tablet then in Blue Repair my phone/tablet and follow the onscreen instructions - When prompted connect your phone still switched off holding volume down or back button - This should start the repair or reformat process
If you are using Windows 8/8.1 or a 64bit operating system then adjust the settings for PC Companion and run in compatibility mode and chose Windows 7 or XP
