Hi,
So who's clever idea was it to put the mute button on the phone app so that you cheekbone would accidentally press it whilst on a call? Is there a way to change this?
The Xperia XA1 has the mute button at the bottom of the panel and so is not so easily pressed.
Also why does the screen stay on when talking on the phone? I've not seen this happen on any other of the brands of Android handsets that I have purchased in the past.
Many thanks,
Clive.
Yeah, none of what you described is supposed to happen.
The display is supposed to turn off, thus making it impossible to hit the mute button.
When on a call, can you cover the top half of the screen with your hand to test the sensor, or go to settings, support, tests and choose the ear proximity test.
Hi,
Thank you for your help in this.
OK the test seems to work fine. Could it be that I don't press the handset to my ear fully and when there is a small gap then the screen is coming on?
The phone is supposed to stay off, but somehow light still hits it sometimes and the screen turns on. Something not supposed to happen and something not happening are too completely different things. Accidental muting has happened on my last 2 phones.
This is happening too frequently also in my case, as already posted few weeks ago.
Since Android Pie, maybe due to the fact that I do not strongly press the phone on my ear, the mic mute activates much more frequently than before.
