I recently bought a XPERIA XA1 ULTRA, the Android Version is 8.0, and I am so deeply frustrated with it that I might return it. Can somebody provide help, am I just using it wrong?
When it vibrates, it does it so loudly that everyone in the room can hear it. For some apps, like Telegram, you cannot disable vibrating properly. I don't want my phone to vibrate at all.
I am unable to find the option for changing the vibration on my phone. This Article (https://www.hardreset.info/devices/sony/sony-xperia-xa1-ultra-g3221/faq/faq/vibration-settings-sony/ ) claims that there is a vibration strength option under "Accessibiliy", but in my phone it simply isn't there. Here is a screenshot from my phone, the option is just missing: https://imgur.com/zccOidU
Does anybody know what to do about this?
I believe there's only an option to disable or enable vibration for incoming calls on the device settings, but there are settings for each and every app notifications and there is an option to disable vibration inside for the incoming notifications. like when you go to settings- Apps& notifications-see all apps, then pick the app that you want and then press on notifications , probably you should find the vibration option that you can disable it inside every option in the app notifications.
I have this exact same problem in my Xperia and it is super annoying because as said, the vibration is really loud. Like I wake up if a message comes and phone is in other side of the room. I have not found any way to disable it outside of shutting down the phone which I really don't want to do especially as I use the phone as my alarm clock.
Shutting down the vibration from the application itself DOES NOT work (and really, shouldn't the global setting override the local setting anyway?). It does not matter which application I try - Whatsapp, SMS, phone call itself, in every case when I turn the phone to quiet mode, it suddenly assumes that I absolutely want the vibrations on. I tried to restart the phone, thinking that it is some weird temporary bug and doesn't accept changed settings without a reboot, but it did not help.
Goto setting, type vibration and check vibration settings.
Hope you'll find the right setting.
I still haven't found a working solution yet, but for you I might have a small solution: The alarm clock should still work in plane mode, so just switch it to that for sleeping. No WiFi means no incoming messages means no vibration. Have a good sleep.
I have turned off vibration from Settings and apps own settings. Does not help.
I guess you can factory reset it, cause this shouldn't happen, just be sure to backup.
