Well, its waterproof so shouldn't be affected by water in a steam room, I would make the assumption however that just like any electronic device it will have thermal limits as to what temperatures it will operate within.
Dependant on how Sony have chosen to seal the unit the expansion at temperature of the different materials will expand at different rates and could cause parts of the unit to seperate, personally I wouldn't risk it.
