Wear Levelling

I have a VPCZ11D7E laptop and I am trying to find out whether or not it uses wear levelling.

I do not want to telephone Sony (I am overseas), and since Sony helpfully (not) do not provide an e-mail address for support (or one that I can find), I thought I would ask my question here.

Any help would be gratefully received.

Hi brmanfo and welcome.

Sony don't publish specifications in much detail so if you need more info I'm afraid you will need to contact Sony.

I must admit that I think all SSDs have Wear Levelling algorithms in the Flash controller which keeps a lookup table to allocate which physical block to use each time data is programmed and to ensure even use of memory blocks.  I don't think there are any SSDs that do not use static Wear Levelling.  They would not last very long!
