Hi Eddie,

I would buy from CRUCIAL.COM because they guarantee compatibility and will ship next day to Sweeden for 7€ extra.

I know this will be more expensive than from your Sweedish store but we have had some difficulties getting Vaios to recognise the cheap Corsair memory modules. Make sure you can return them if they dont work.

Nearly everyone that uses this forum gets their memory from Crucial so they are highly recommended for quality and service.

You do not want to buy from Sony - they are about five times more expensive!!!

Thanks for your answer, but does the memory specs on the memory I posted work. What I mean Is If I buy the 1024 mb 4200 memories will they work?

I found this crucial memory on an swedish online shop, will this work?

Hi Eddie,

Yes, the type of memory you have found is correct. To be exact, you need: -

200-pin SODIMM
DDR2 PC2-4200 • CL=4 • Unbuffered • NON-ECC • DDR2-533 • 1.8V • 128Meg x 64

Your A397XP can take up to 2048MB of memory with a maximum of 1024MB in each of the two slots.

How to upgrade your memory

DDR2 PC2-4200
