I have a problem with the machine were it does random shutdowns,
On a ac adapter it will not power up and shows the battery as charging the ac adapter has to be removed then the battery removed then reinserted for the unit to power up and then it stays on for a unknown period and will power down. Does anyone have any ideas?

Might be overheating. Are the fans clogged up with dust?

No the unit is very clean less than 6 months old the unit will not power on now at all the display even if the lights come is dead then unit switches it self off the unit has been tried to be powered up with either the power adapteror battery.
The battery has been tested in another unit and works fine.

Unit now powers on but switches itself off randomly machine has no virus when it switches off it is random for some reason the fan do not kick in that I can detect is there any utility to force the fan on to check if it is functioning as the unit now is powering up (when it feels like it) I have done a bios update which did not resolve the problem (very risky if the unit had powered down I would have been stuffed ) does anyone have any ideas all drivers are current and up to date.
