Ive been trying to run this update for months and it hasnt worked, ive downloaded it manually and installed it asks me to reboot but it still doesnt work as it asks me to install again and reboot again, i remember there was a thread on this somewhere here but the search function doesnt work and there are too many page to find it If someone resolved this problem please tell me how as its not showing me any other recent update released by sony like for the motion eye thank you....

I've tried 'unsuccessfully' to install the update and I have the UseOneLED set to 0x00000001 (1)

Hi Jumbles,

Could you clarify that after (Un)successfully installing the patch (see correct registry value), Memory Card Reader/Writer Driver Registry Patch 20060210 still shows up in VAIO Update as "still to be installed".

I also have the same problem.

I have triple checked the registry value, it is there and it is set to 1, just as you said.

Also, every time I log on Vaio update appears and it requests that I install the registry patch.

Therefore I assume Vaio update is not properly detecting the installation.

Your help with this is greatly appreciated.

It's still there in the Automatic Updates list.

I just downloaded the update and ran it again, and it runs and tells you to restart the system and then some program kicked up an error as it was shutting down. The error message disappeared before I could note what it was.

Another thing to note is that when you extract the file using WinRAR and run it that way it opens a DOS window and says this...

Found driver information.
Set values OK.
Restart system now? (Yes or No)

I just checked VAIO Update and it said The update has been installed successfully.

I checked a few days ago and it didn't say anything about this update so I guess Sony have fixed it at last!

Can any of the other members with this problem please confirm that the Memory Card Reader/Writer Driver Registry Patch 20060210 now states that the update has been installed successfully..

It had installed perfectly before i installed vista.........however it only installed after i had to do a system recover with my XP MCE(due to my windows corrupting)!!! but before then it did not work!
