hey all this is my first post on here and actually my first vaio!
ive had it for just over a week now and what can i say.... im sooo impressed! but i have a problem.

i bought an indoor aerial yesterday, all excited to use it to watch the odd tv channel or two whilst the missus watches corrie or some other dross but since ive done all the vaio updates, my tv tuner no longer seems to be working? ive updated the drivers as suggested(and included in vaio update), uninstalled,redetected etc the driver is loaded fine but media center will not reconise that theres a tv tuner installed?

anyone seen this or know how to fix it? im sure the first time i powered it up and setup media center it wanted to setup the tv side of things but i didnt have an aerial at that point, sods law i do now and nothing.

Pleased you are enjoying your AR11S - lucky you!

We have had a number of members with Media Centre installed who have a similar problem with the TV card. Unfortunately, I don't think anyone has posted a solution yet.

I would phone Sony VAIO-LINK Support on 0870 240 2408 to see if they have a solution. Have your Vaio's Serial Number and date of purchase handy. If you have not yet Registered your Vaio at Vaio-Link, you may need to phone 0905 0310007 first. Opening Hours are Monday-Friday 08:00-18:00 (local time)

If you get a solution, please come back here and post details - this will help other members with the same problem.

I am also delighted with my AR11S. My probem is related but not the same. I cannot get teletext on Media Centre. I've searched the internet and using Media Centre in the UK appears to be the probem altghough I gather some people have had success. Reading reviews on external tv cards they seem to have software that can receive teletext. Does Sony have an alternative available for the UK?

I have got the same problem as well. does ur media centre freeze for like 25 seconds when trying to access My Tv or Settings? mine is only over a week old and have phoned the company where I purchased it from and they are going to replace the laptop since its not 28 days old yet. instead of sending it back by courier I would rather find a solution than take a risk of any loss that may occur in transit. Am thinking of doing the system recovery as it mite fix the problem. before I do this does anyone advise me to do this?

Thanks a lot to Blencogo for posting the above link and PD in leek for his help. If anybody is having this problem just uninstall the latest media centre update, i think its KB919803 as it causes all the errors.
