Uninstalling Preinstalled MS Messenger

How do I uninstall the pre-installed MS Messenger on the laptop, its not in add/remove programs.

Can I upgrade my current edition to 6.2?

Is not necessary...

Just access the MSN home-page and get the download.

Indicate a folder specify to keep the new version of the software.

Execute the installation and that´s it.

on mine it was listed as one of the components under "windows setup". I removed the tick and applied it and then windoews did the rest. You can have windows messenger and msn messenger installed at the same time but its pointless and a bit irritating. I hope this helps

Any way...

If you want to uninstall the program... YES, you have the option at : software of the control panel...

Look the list and click on the name of the program to uninstall.

You can deinstall the Messanger in the Window components (may be, this is a incorrect translation), but with this, the messenger is not complete deinstalled.

But this is good, if you feel annoyed from the Messenger logo.

1. go in to the system configure
2. software
3. system components
4. you can disable the point "Windows Messenger"
