Symantec Subscription

I bought a PCV-502 about 2 months ago, however the Symantec software states that I need to subscribe and pay them money...I thought it was valid for 6months with this machine...Am I wrong...(based in the UK)

It's funny you should say that Magic. I got mine a couple of months ago and am getting the same message too. I jthink it is only valid for 3 months.

No it's valid for 3 months only. That's the firewall and virus scanner.

Yes, I think it's actually 90 days.

It only lasts for 90 days.

Consider AVG for your virus needs.

id uninstall nortan and download AVG free edition(www.grisoft.com) and zone alarm, then your firewall and anti-virus needs are covered, for free, they may not have bells and whistles on them, but they work... and they dont scaremonger you either...

dont think its a lesser product cos its free...its not.

Very wise words indeed. Very able viruscheckers especially can be found for free, although in the firewall stakes I think prefer Symantec.

Yes AVG is well worth using imho.

If I'm not mistaken the subscription only allows you to use the auto download function, but if you have to have the Symantec one and you can be bothered to download it, I'm pretty sure you still can, just manually. That is still free

Chuck,

You can't do that either, because the file checks the subscription.
