Sony Memory Stick Pro Duo problem

I bought a pro duo 512 memory stick for use with my new DSC P150 Digital Camera and my laptop says that the memory stick is not formatted.

Ive checked the memory stick on a S2XP laptop and the memory stick works fine. I have a R600 HMPD laptop.

Is there any software that I can download to allow me to use the memory stick - if so where from?

Have you checked Vaio-Link to see if there is a firmware update for your memory stick reader to enable it to read pro sticks?

You can formate the stick with your camera. Or you use the "Memory Stick Formatter" . ( This is a sony software, look at your recovery DVD and install them.)

I have Sony DSC-L1. I don't know if you have the same layout, but look under "Setup"

there is a small memory stick logo. here is an option to formate the memory stick.
