Hi there,
I was on week ago asking about recovery disks, I am back!!!
not a genius on computers, but when i went to do the recovery disks it said to insert a DVD-R 4.7gb, now I only have CD-R,s is there a difference!!! and would i be able to use the CDR disk to make the recovery disk???
Any help much appreciated.
Thanks...
Hi there!
No you can't use a cd.
The difference between the discs essentially is the size of them (in data terms)
A cd only holds 700 megabytes of data but a dvd holds 4.7 gigabytes
You just wouldn't be able to get all the recovery data onto a cd, so it asks for a dvd instead
Hi there jumpsuit!! is that you in the pic?? well that answered my question and very quickly, Thanks again. Take Care from the Emerald Isle!
Hi carlowlass,
Yes there is a difference in a CD and a DVD, one difference is the storage capacity a CD stores 650 or 700mb and a DVD stores 4,7GB..
I don't think the Vaio Recovery tool allows you the option to create recovery disc onto CD's anymore..
I would recommend you burn your vaio recovery disc onto DVD's, Verbatim DVD+R seem to a popular choice..
