Hi,
I have a Vaio PCG-GRT915M
P4 2.8GHz
512MB Ram
The Graphic Card is a GeforceFx 5600Go 64MB (no shared memory)!!!
When i'm playing Counterstrike Source for example i get about 60 FPS (what is not bad) but after a little the FPS drop to 10-20...
A little later they go up to 60 again. It is the same Problem even if I play with a reolution of 1024 or 640. I tried all settings but its always the same! I also tried different display drivers and disabled the powersaving mode in WindowsXP.
The preferences are:
Min:
1.2 GHz Processor
256MB RAM
DirectX 7 graphics card
Windows 2000/XP/ME/98
Mouse
Keyboard
Preferred:
2.4 GHz ProcessorB 512MB RAM
DirectX 9 graphics card
Windows 2000/XP
Mouse
Keyboard
Some of my friends have slower PCs and can play without Problems!
What should I do???
Is my Vaio damaged???
Is it possible to change the graphic card or put more memory on the card???
Please give me some advise!

Hi Prinzp
You must deactivate the vertical synchronisation.
THX
But VSYNC is disabled!
And this would just explaine why the FPS don't go over 60.
But why do they drop! The FPS Drop doesn't happen at special parts of the Level. It also happens if I stand still and don't move!
???
It is hard to find drivers for this FX GO cards...
I don't know.
But when I look at my graphicscard, mmh.
problems with some direct3D futures.
download Everest Home Edition and start the program.
go to DirectX, then DirectVideo
here you can see what for 3D futures your graphics card supports.
Then deaktivate this futures in the game. ( if you can this)
May be, this helps
I installed everest home edition:
question:
I'll get a warning DMI, what's that???
The DMI information is may be incorrect. I've get the same massage. That's normal.
Does it only happen on Counterstrike? Has it always done this or only since the last Steam update?
