Welcome to CV Mollie.
If the desktop has a network card it will be listed in Device Manager under Network Adaptors. It will have a description along the lines of `Intel PRO/100 VE Network Connection¿.
Hi Richard
Thanks for your help but i don't know were to look for the device manager/network adaptors can you tell me were to look thanks.
Start > Control Panel > System > Hardware > Device Manager.
Hope that this helps.
Sorry Mollie, just realised that my explanation may not have been entirely helpful.
Click on start, select Control Panel (right hand side of pane), double click on the `System¿ Icon, select the hardware tab and click on Device Manager.
Click on the `+¿ next to Network Adapters and you will see a list that, hopefully, will include `Intel PRO/100 VE Network Connection¿, or something similar.
Mollie,
Look at the back of the VAIO, it looks like a larger version of the modem socket - sometimes it's hidden in a compartment.
