My mic has vanished on my VAIO!

I seem to have somehow uninstalled my mic on my vaio VGN-FZ29VN. It won't function anymore and i have tried looking for it in the control panel but my computer won't detect any mic, not even an external one. How can I get it back?

It could be a hardware problem but it is always worth trying to reinstall the audio drivers to see if that fixes it.

You will find the sriver under Sound, Video and Game Controllers in Device Manager.

You will need to check the microphone is not just muted.
