Issue with WLAN on new AR series Notebook

Howdy my Vaio is practically fresh out of the box a mere two weeks old. I have a belkin router installed and have been happily wirelss using my home W/Network for the last ten days. However when I got home today I had no connection to the internet so I went to my networks and it cannot find any?
I have taken the following action:

Reboot
Reboot switch of WLAN switch back on WLAN (is lit up seems to think its working.
Disabled LAN and left only WLAN selected
Called my internet provider - no issue.
Connected Notebook via cable - no issue full internet connectivity.
Connected via ancillary laptop (Dell) to router - no issue found home network.

I am out of self examination ideas. I think the WLAN is busted. Any thoughts or advice from you guys?

Turn the router off for 5mins and turn it on again, make sure the plug is removed from the socket so it can discharge properly.

But I have already established that the router is not an issue by using my dell laptop on the home wireless network.

Try a driver update for the WLAN.

I have AR-31S and similar problems... wifi constantly drops. The workaround is to "diagnose" every 30 minutes, which gets pretty boring.

It's much more fun if you come out of standyby and there are *no* wifi networks listed. You have to "disable" the wifi hardware, then re-enable it again (if you can find where network interfaces are in vista).

seems this will only get fixed in a few months with SP1, along with the missing IR after standby/hibernate.

Here is the fix that will be included in sp1.
