Hi people,

I'm upgrading to an SSD and I'm trying to find which SATA version my VGN-FW51MF uses?

I've seen reviews that say SATA/300 and also SATA/150 so they contradict each other.

I've emailed the sony support but they have not gotten back to me, so any help would be appriciated

For the definitive answer, you will have to wait for Sony Support but you should be able to check the specifications of your PM45 Express Chipset and of your current hard drive.

However, the beauty of SATA is that it is 100% backwards compatible- so any SATA device will work with any SATA interface. (at the speed of the slower of the two).
