I have a Vaio EB2 running Windows 7 (64bit), fitted with 4 GB RAM. Does anyone know what the maximum amount of memory I can fit? And what the limiting factor is: - BIOS/Motherboard/OS?
Solved! Go to Solution.
Specifications for the VPCEB2 Vaios say that up to 8GB of PC3-8500 RAM is supported.
I would guess this is a main board limitation of 4GB per memory slot.
Thanks very much for this reply. I thought that was the case. Interestingly - if I fit 8 GB - 2 x 4 GB modules the BIOS only reports seeing 4 GB. Both modules are good -- If I fit either into any slot it still reports 4 GB! BIOS upgrade anyone?
