As it was nearly 3 years I sent it to a local computer shop where i was told the motherboard was faulty and needed reflow. I was then told it is dead.
I found on the support page sony are extending warrenty for an extra three years. I have tried to find someway to contact Sony via email but have had no luck.
Can anyone help?
The only way I know to contact Sony about this extended warranty is by telephone using the premium 'Out-of-Warranty' telephone number.
You need to enter your Serial Numbers into the Support page here: -

and navigate to 'Get-in-Touch'.
Assuming you live in the Uk, you can call 01932 816 000 (they shut at 6pm) and just say that you want to book a service for your VAIO. They'll put you through to VAIO support and you just tell them whats going wrong. I had this problem and they repaired it for me free of charge in 3 weeks. Could you attach a picture so I can see whether you have the same problem as I did...
