Firewire info

Hi,
I have a Sony Vaio laptop Model A115Z and Sony Handycam Model DCR TRV27E. I would like to know the compatible firewire that can be used to connect the Handycam with my laptop. Any suggestions please....
Best Regards,
Prabhakar

You need to use a 4pin firewire cable from you VAIO to the 4pin on the camera.

It's known as 1394 (s400)

You need a I-Link (Firewire) cable.

But it gives two different kinds of the Firewire connection.

for your labtop I think, you need a firewire cable with 4 pins. ( I think the normal has 6 pins, may be I'm wrong).

Look at your Digicam what for a firewire connection, you must use for you digicam.

Oh, Kee-Lo was faster as I.

You're right Seb, it's 4pin

As the guys say 4 pin, you should be able to pick one up in somewhere like PC world for £15 - £20.

I got one recently and found that the fitting was a little difficult to slot into the Vaio on the first couple of attempts, seemed not to want to go in and very tight. Line it up carefully or you might think the thing doesn't fit.

Better than having if flap about in the breeze I suppose but a bit disconcerting at first.
